Hi Friends,
Ok i'm 16 years old, and i've pretty much been overweight since 4th grade.. it wasn't so bad, i freaked when i got to 200 and even more so at 220. and its just grown over the past couple years. but now i'm at 301 as of this morning, i'm losing confidence in being able to handle this, and i just need some help, any suggestions on what to do or anything.. i dont want it to get any worse than it is, and i just want to feel good about myself for once...any help is greatly appreciated.... |

Can you give us some more background information? What is your diet like? Do you get any exercise at all? Who does the cooking at your home and what is their diet like? Do you want to lose weight or do you just want to come to terms with being 300 pounds? What are you willing to do and what have you tried in the past?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea of your situation. |

HI
Well i honestly dont want to blame my family for it or anything.. but nobody in our family is really healthy... we dont eat much healthy type food we get like the cheap easy meals like macaroni spaghetti pizza, junk like that.Sadly enough no i dont exercise at the moment.
I would really like to lose wieght, and try to be comfortable with myself right now before hand.i used to do wii fit, but i dont anymore, since i've been looking for a job...i was on a diet once where i ate 6 small portioned meals a day and i was on it for a week and lost almost 10 pounds.. but i was too unhappy, and i couldnt keep it going...i have lost a bit of wieght over time.. i'm at like 280 now... my mom keeps saying that it was because i had serious depression problems and i turned to food.. which was true.
I did do that.i am getting some money this weekend and i planned to make a membership to 24 hour fitness and schedule some free time at least every day to every other day to get some exercise. and i have cut down on my eating, but i drink A LOT of soda. i'm talking approximately 2 64oz cups of like pepsi or mountain dew every day.

You're on the right track. Don't get discouraged. Use the gym as a 'me time' sort of thing. Take a nice walk over there, exercise and and nice walk back. My work is so busy and there is so many people pulling me in different directions that I can't wait to go to the gym everyday because it's the one time I can put my headphones on and do my own thing.
It's going to take a long time to get to where you need to be so don't get impatient or discouraged. Keep the soda out and keep eating smaller, healthier meals and stay active.

Well i'm just hoping to reach at least another 10-20 pounds by my birthday which is may 18th. I'm thinking this will really work for me. i just need to stay focused. |
